Pakistan's PM Sharif Cries Foul Over Operation Sindoor, Spreads Unverified 80-Jet Attack Claim

Following India's Operation Sindoor, a series of precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7, 2025, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound grief, condemning the strikes as an "act of war."

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that India launched the attack using 80 fighter jets but the Pakistan Army, alert about the possibility of an attack, responded immediately.


Sharif praised the Pakistani army
Sharif has expressed satisfaction and happiness over the response of the Pakistani army. Also, the National Security Council has given the Pakistani army the right to choose the time, place and method to respond to the Indian attack.


Claim of shooting down five planes in Parliament, but no proof
While addressing the Parliament session on Wednesday amid intense tension after the Indian attack, the Pakistani Prime Minister claimed that Pakistani security forces shot down five Indian planes during the attack. But he could neither present any evidence in support of his claim nor could he tell the places where the debris of the Indian planes had fallen.

Sharif praised the Pakistan Air Force and its chief for their prompt response to the attack. He said they were prepared after getting intelligence about India's attack plan and they retaliated without losing any time.

In this action, five fighter planes, including two Rafale planes and two Indian drones of India were shot down. Regarding Rafale planes, the Pakistani Prime Minister also claimed that its system was jammed by Pakistani experts. He said, our security forces are ready at every moment to protect the motherland.


Prime Minister Sharif said that Pakistan had demanded a transparent international investigation into the Pahalgam attack but India chose the path of attack instead of cooperating in it. Earlier, Prime Minister Sharif chaired the National Security Council (NSC) of Pakistan.


Cabinet ministers and army chiefs attended the meeting and reviewed the situation after India's attack. In the meeting, the government authorized the security forces to give a befitting reply to enemy attacks

Pakistan announces closure of airspace for 48 hours
In the meeting, the Pakistani army chief said that 31 people were killed and 57 injured in the Indian attack on Tuesday-Wednesday night. After the Indian attack on Wednesday, Pakistan announced to close its skies for 48 hours for the movement of civilian aircraft, but opened the skies after eight hours. Meanwhile, Pakistan has banned the broadcasting of 16 YouTube channels, 31 news channel,s and 32 websites of India, accusing them of spreading propaganda.
