Protest at US Universities intensifies: Palestinian flags raised at Harvard

Amid ongoing demonstrations in the United States, the anti-Israeli protestors at Harvard University raised Palestinian flag at the Ivy League school in a spot usually reserved for the American flag. According to the sources, since April 18, the US Police has detained 900 protestors so far. 

The demonstrations in New York started over a week ago, amid triggered war between Israel and Hamas. The incident intensified when students continued occupying campus in a video that surfaced on social media which shows three students raising the Palestinian flag over the iconic statue of John Harvard. A total of three flags were hoisted at the campus, according to the sources.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the University has condemned the action of the students, saying that university staff pulled down the Palestinian flag soon after it was raised at the flagpole on Saturday. He also said that individuals involved will be subject to disciplinary action.
The similar scenes were witnessed at the college campuses across the US, including Columbia University in the Big Apple and other Ivy League universities.

According to the sources, since April 18, over 900 protestors have been arrested at the campuses in the US. The protests at the US universities started against Israel's counteroffensive in response to Hamas attack on the Jewish state on October 7.
