International News: The Paris St.-Germain (PSG) Football Club created history by winning its first title of the UEFA Champions League. In the final match, the French club won the trophy by defeating Italian giants Inter Milan 5-0. While this victory brought a wave of happiness across France, the celebration of victory in the capital, Paris, suddenly turned into a riot.

Celebration turned into a riot

After PSG's historic victory on Saturday night, thousands of supporters flooded the streets of Paris. Especially in prestigious areas like the Champs-Élysées, a huge crowd gathered. Initially everything was peaceful, but late at night some miscreants started spoiling the atmosphere.

Clash between police and miscreants

Antisocial elements in the crowd broke bus shelters and pelted stones at riot control police. Seeing the situation worsening, the police fired water cannons and tear gas shells. A stampede broke out in the chaos, in which two people died. At the same time, 192 people were injured, including many policemen and firefighters.

More than 500 arrests

According to the French Interior Ministry, a total of 559 people were arrested from across the country due to this disturbance, of which 491 people were caught in Paris alone. Of these, 320 have been kept in police custody.

Arson and vandalism

The Home Ministry informed that incidents of arson took place at hundreds of places. About 200 vehicles were burned. Apart from this, sidewalk shops and many boutique boulevards were vandalized. Overall, this celebration became an event challenging the peace of the city.

Peace restored for now, security strict

The ministry said that the situation in Paris is under control, but the police and security forces are fully alert. The help of drones and helicopters is also being taken to monitor the situation.

This victory of PSG has proved to be a milestone in French football history, but the violence and chaos on this happy occasion turned the celebration into mourning. The government and the police administration are now ensuring that such situations do not arise again.
