New Delhi: Iran-backed Houthis have once again attacked Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh. It is being reported that a Saudi Aramco tower has been damaged in this attack. According to an official at the Saudi Energy Ministry, the building suffered minor damage from falling shrapnel and debris in the attack that took place on Sunday morning. Several windows of the building were shattered, and floors and structures on some floors were damaged.

According to a report by the news agency AFP, the Yemeni armed forces carried out this attack in response to Saudi Arabia's major attacks on Yemen a day earlier. Several eyewitnesses told the news agency that Riyadh's King Abdullah Financial District was targeted. One of these eyewitnesses clearly stated that the target was the Saudi Aramco Tower located in the same area.

Meanwhile, France 24, citing AFP, reported that the Aramco Tower was targeted in a Houthi attack. Unverified videos from Riyadh clearly show broken windows and damage to several floors of the building. Damaged parts and fallen debris are also visible in these videos. A Saudi Energy Ministry official officially confirmed that an administrative building belonging to Saudi Aramco was attacked. He said that falling shrapnel caused minor damage to the structure.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition reported that two ballistic missiles fired toward Riyadh had been intercepted and destroyed. Coalition spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki issued a statement on social media, saying air defense systems intercepted and destroyed two cruise missiles aimed at Riyadh and southern areas. Al-Maliki did not provide any additional information about the source of the cruise missiles.

Two ballistic missiles destroyed

The announcement came less than an hour after he said coalition air defense systems intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired by the Houthi group toward the Saudi capital, Riyadh. Earlier, the coalition also reported intercepting another ballistic missile fired by the Houthis toward Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. These developments come amid ongoing military tensions between the Saudi-led coalition and Yemen's Houthi group, which has repeatedly launched missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi territory.
