International News:The Russia-Ukraine conflict, which has been ongoing for more than three years, is once again witnessing an escalation in violence. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, their forces carried out large-scale strikes on several Ukrainian positions in the past 24 hours. These strikes reportedly targeted a major military-industrial hub as well as 143 temporary bases used by Ukrainian soldiers and foreign fighters.

The ministry further claimed that Russian air defense systems were highly active during the week. Officials stated that four guided bombs and nearly 160 drones were destroyed in the skies before they could cause any damage. Moscow has highlighted these actions as a demonstration of its strong defense capabilities and military readiness.

Control Over Villages in Donetsk

In addition to the strikes, Russia has declared control over two strategically important villages in the Donetsk region. This area has remained a focal point of the ongoing conflict due to its location and resources. By capturing these villages, Moscow aims to strengthen its presence in eastern Ukraine, a region that has witnessed some of the fiercest fighting since the war began.

Peace Talks Under U.S. Mediation

The escalation comes at a time when international efforts are being made to bring both countries back to the negotiating table. The United States has been trying to mediate between Russia and Ukraine, encouraging both sides to reduce hostilities and explore diplomatic solutions. Despite these attempts, the ground reality paints a different picture, with attacks continuing on a daily basis.

Zelensky Open to Dialogue

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has recently signaled that he is willing to hold direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This statement has raised hopes that dialogue could open a path toward de-escalation. However, Moscow has not responded with any clear or positive signs so far. Without reciprocal interest from Russia, the possibility of meaningful negotiations remains uncertain.

Growing Global Concerns

The fresh wave of violence has drawn serious concern from the international community. Countries across Europe, along with global organizations, have repeatedly emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire. Analysts believe that while peace talks remain the only viable long-term solution, the recent military actions could further delay the chances of reaching an agreement.

The Road Ahead

The ongoing developments underline the sharp contrast between battlefield realities and diplomatic efforts. As Russia continues its aggressive strikes and Ukraine insists on defending its territory, hopes for peace remain fragile. For the people caught in this prolonged war, the urgent need is not more battles but a genuine step toward ending the conflict through dialogue and understanding.
