Tornado Hits Missouri, More Severe Weather Expected

According to the National Weather Service, a tornado was spotted between 2:30 and 2:50 p.m. on Friday in the Clayton area of Missouri. Shortly after, the storm intensified, spreading its destructive impact to neighboring regions. Meteorologists warn that what occurred in St. Louis might only be the beginning. Several parts of the U.S., including the Appalachian region, have been issued warnings for strong winds, heavy hail, and more tornado activity in the coming days. In line with this, the state of Illinois declared a rare and serious ‘Tornado Emergency’ for the Marion area on Friday evening, confirming the touchdown of a dangerous tornado there.
