International News: A big meeting was held in Paris on Thursday. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, leaders of European countries, and US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff attended it. The main topic of the meeting was how to give a security guarantee to Ukraine if there is a ceasefire.
The meeting took place at a time when Russia made another major attack on Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force said that last night Russia sent 112 drones, out of which 84 were shot down. Despite this, many areas were damaged.
French President Emmanuel Macron said that in the event of a peace agreement with Russia, 26 countries are ready to form an international force, which will ensure the security of Ukraine. He clearly said that US support will be very important for this work.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also agreed with this. On the other hand, Germany announced it would train Ukrainian soldiers and increase funding.
During the meeting, Zelensky also held separate talks with Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff. Witkoff appealed to European leaders to make a concrete plan for military and economic aid to Ukraine in case of a ceasefire.
Donald Trump asked European countries to stop buying oil from Russia. He says that this purchase is giving Russia money to continue the war against Ukraine. He also reiterated that he is committed to a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
Last month, Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Alaska, but no concrete results came out of it. At the same time, the possibility of direct talks between Zelensky and Putin is still uncertain.
This meeting in Paris shows that Europe and America are busy making a new strategy regarding Ukraine. But the biggest question is whether Russia will be ready for a peace agreement and whether the world will be able to give a permanent security guarantee to Ukraine together.
