Washington: Following the shooting incident that occurred during the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, the 'Epstein genie' has once again escaped the bottle. The attacker leveled several serious allegations against US President Donald Trump in his manifesto. During an interview, a reporter read out the accusations made by the attacker and questioned President Trump regarding them. At this, President Trump lashed out in anger.

What did Donald Trump say?

President Trump was so incensed that he branded the reporter a "disgrace" and stated, "You shouldn't be reading such vile things." In fact, allegations regarding President Trump's association with Jeffrey Epstein have persisted for some time. A day after the shooting incident at the White House dinner, during a '60 Minutes' interview, anchor Norah O’Donnell questioned President Trump specifically about the remarks made by the attacker.

The anchor read out excerpts from the attacker's statements, in which he had labeled Trump a "rapist," a "pedophile" (someone who sexually abuses children), and a "traitor." Angered by this line of questioning, Trump expressed his indignation, declaring, "I am not a rapist. I have read that manifesto." He characterized the attacker as a "sick individual" and told the reporter, "You shouldn't be reading this. You are a disgrace."

Did Donald Trump walk out of the interview?

Subsequently, President Trump asked the anchor to conclude the interview. President Trump stated that he had not panicked during the incident; rather, he wanted to observe what was unfolding. He further added that Secret Service agents later instructed him and the First Lady to lie down on the ground while they were being escorted to a secure location. During the interview, President Trump also referenced reports suggesting that the suspect had participated in a protest.

He remarked that such individuals exist because certain people are running campaigns with slogans like "No Kings." "I am not a king," he asserted. "If I were a king, I wouldn't have to be talking to you." Trump also stated that, despite this incident, the dinner should be held again. Such events should not be canceled due to an attack.

This interview took place a day after the shooting incident at the White House dinner, where President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other top US officials were present. The perpetrator of this incident has been identified as 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen.
