Wahington: A day after the American military strike on Caracas and the detention of Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, US President Donald Trump adopted an aggressive posnture against other countries in the region and has openly threatened Colombian President Gustavo Petro.

According to a report in the Times of Israel, after Maduro's seizure of power, Trump warned the Colombian president to be careful. Trump told Colombian President Gustavo Petro to watch out for his life. After the arrest of Venezuelan leader Maduro, Trump said that Petro should be careful about his safety.
Trump accused Petro of smuggling cocaine to the United States.
"He has cocaine mills, he has factories where he makes cocaine, and yes, I think I stand by my earlier statement. He's making cocaine. They're sending it to the United States. So he needs to be careful," Trump told the media.
Trump also indirectly warned the Mexican president on Saturday while announcing the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro.
Trump also used harsh words for the leaders of Colombia and Cuba. He said that the attack on Venezuela was not meant as a warning to Mexico, but he said that something has to be done about this country run by cartels. Trump also reiterated his warning to Colombian President Gustavo Petro.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said that Mexico strongly condemns the US military action in Venezuela and does not condone such audacity. He urged the US to cease all acts of aggression against the Venezuelan government and people.
Meanwhile, Colombian President Gustavo Petro called Washington's actions an attack on Latin American sovereignty and said it would result in a humanitarian crisis. According to a BBC report, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva wrote on X that these actions are unacceptable. The US attack on Venezuela is a blatant violation of international law. Attacking Venezuela is the first step towards a world of violence, chaos, and instability.
Chilean President Gabriel Boric also expressed concern and condemned the attack. He called for a peaceful solution to the serious crisis affecting the country. Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel accused the US of a criminal attack. Uruguay, in an official statement, said it is monitoring the developments and, as always, rejects US military intervention.
