Israel Attack Iran: Who Are Israel’s RAAM, SOUFA, and ADIR? The Fighter Jets That Shooked Iran Overnight (Image: IDF)
International News: The devastation witnessed in Iran last night wasn't the result of just one airstrike, but rather the outcome of a deadly combination of three advanced Israeli fighter jets. Israel launched a powerful aerial assault targeting Iran’s missile bases, nuclear facilities, and military leadership. The mission involved the F-15I Raam, F-16I Soufa, and F-35I Adir—all highly advanced aircraft. These fighter aircrafts successfully accomplished their mission by dodging Iran's air defense system. The F-15I Raam, a trusted asset of the Israeli Air Force, is based on the American F-15E Strike Eagle. It serves a dual purpose: engaging in air-to-air combat while simultaneously destroying ground targets. With a striking range of up to 2,700 miles and a weapons payload of 18,000 pounds, it is a formidable machine. The Raam has been previously used to dismantle Hezbollah's terror infrastructure in Lebanon.
Its greatest strength lies in its ability to deploy bunker-busting bombs. This made it ideal for striking Iran’s deeply buried nuclear sites. Using GPS-guided JDAM bombs, it can destroy underground facilities without being detected by enemy radar.
Nicknamed “Soufa,” meaning storm, the F-16I is a customized variant of the F-16D Block 52, tailored specifically for Israeli needs. It has a two-person crew: one pilot for flight control, the other for managing weapons. Equipped with conformal fuel tanks, the jet can travel long distances without refueling.
Its advanced targeting systems, including LANTIRN and Litening pods, allow precision strikes even at night and in all weather conditions. Soufa played a vital role in destroying Iranian bunkers and mobile launch platforms with pinpoint accuracy.
The F-35I Adir means powerful, is a stealth fighter jet based on the America F-35A, modified with Israeli-made electronic systems and weapons. This is multi-role fighter jet capable for surveillance, attack, and electronic warfare.
Adir was the best choice to neutralize Iran's poweful air defense system. It penetrated deep into enemy territory undetected, conducting electronic jamming and gathering intelligence before strikes began.
The heavy bombardment of the F-15I, the accuracy of the F-16I and the stealth of the F-35I. The trio of these aircraft gave Israel a strategic advantage in the war against Iran. The combined force of the F-15I’s destructive payload, the F-16I’s precision, and the F-35I’s stealth gave Israel a decisive edge. These aircraft, flying in coordination, launched JDAMs and Small Diameter Bombs (SDBs) to destroy key Iranian targets.
The operation was carried out late at night—when Iranian radar and air defense systems are at their weakest. The Adir jets led with electronic warfare and surveillance, followed by Soufa and Raam, which executed direct strikes. Numerous bunkers, missile launch sites, and military bases were reduced to rubble. These jets are not just machines—they symbolize Israel’s strategic brilliance and military dominance. The trio of Raam, Soufa, and Adir proved once again that Israel doesn't just retaliate—it neutralizes threats at the root. For Iran, it wasn’t just another dark night—it was a night of destruction.
