Airbnb process refunds customer after host's mistake

The client complained that Airbnb was unresponsive and did not help till three in the morning.

A shocking incident in connection with Airbnb, which provides holiday rentals across the world has surfaced, wherein a customer has shared his horrific experience with the company. A customer got shocked when he found that their belongings thrown out on the street by their host, who had mistaken their leaving date.

According to the customer, he booked an apartment in Washington, DC, for a night and when he returned quite late in the night, he found the room ready for a new guest. 

The customer then informed the host that he saw their passport and other items in the crosswalk. 
“I showed my booking confirmation stating checkout was 11 am the following morning, and she looked sheepish,” the customer said of the host’s reaction.

The guest was allowed to spend the night, but the host declined to give them any money back. Also, the client complained that Airbnb was unresponsive and did not help till three in the morning. The business kept telling them that there was nothing the corporation could do.

An Airbnb representative, Jake Shuter-Ross, told the media persons that the business had apologised and repaid the consumer, calling this a "rare" occurrence. He stated that Airbnb offered the client some additional compensation to make up for the inconvenience.

The spokesperson further said that the company has warned the host about their behaviour.
