Ramadan 2024: How to make Khajoor Ki Barfi at home in these simple steps

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is a holy month observed by Muslims worlwide. They keep a fast from sunrise to sunset. Globally, Muslims come together to participate in these age-old rituals. 

Suhoor and Iftaar are the names of the two meals that Muslims eat during the month of Ramadan. Suhoor is supposed to be eaten before sunrise. After that, not a single piece of food or a drop of water can be consumed who's fasting. Generally, people who fast consume Khajoor. So, you can eat Khajoor Ki Barfi to break your Roza. 

To make Khajoor Ki Barfi, you need

  • 2 cups dates
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 spoons almonds
  • 2 spoons walnuts
  • 2 spoons pistachios
  • 2 teaspoon raisins
  • 2 teaspoons grated kernels
  • 2 spoon chironji
  • 4 spoons desi ghee
  • A medium sized piece of jaggery

This is how you can prepare

To make date barfi, first remove the seeds from the dates and cut them into small pieces. Then soak it in milk the night before. Next day, grind it well and prepare a paste. Now make jaggery syrup. For this, mix some water with jaggery and then cook on low flame. After cooking for some time, when the syrup becomes thick, then remove it from the flame. Now heat ghee in a pan, then add date paste to it and fry it. Then finely chop all the dry fruits.

Let the date paste be roasted and when it starts releasing ghee, add all the finely chopped nuts to it and mix well. Now add jaggery syrup to it and let it cook for some time. Then apply some ghee on the plate and take out this mix in the plate. Let it cool and then cut the barfi into pieces. Add grated coconut over it. Date barfi is ready. Enjoy this delicious Khajoor Ki Barfi with your family.
