West Bengal Election Results 2026 Live Updates: In a historic breakthrough, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set for a massive victory in West Bengal, as it has emerged victorious in as many as 15 seats while it is leading on 185 other assembly constituencies. With the current scenario in the election results, this can be a massive setback for incumbent Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC), which has till now recorded victory in just five seats and is leading on 82 others in West Bengal.The results of 293 out of 294 assembly seats of West Bengal will be declared today on May 4. Polling in Bengal was held in two phases on April 23 and 29.

Kolkata: The BJP has secured victory in three additional seats as well. Bharat Kumar Chhetri from the Kalimpong seat, Karfa Soumen from the Bhatar seat, and Agnimitra Paul from Asansol South have registered victories.

Kolkata: An unusual buzz was witnessed today at CPI(M) offices, stretching from Kolkata all the way to the districts. As the early trends began to trickle in starting this morning, the gathering of party workers steadily grew. Interestingly, even though the CPI(M) itself does not hold a decisive lead in these trends, an atmosphere of celebration prevails.
Despite the BJP gaining a lead in the trends for the West Bengal Assembly elections, Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee refused to concede defeat on Monday. Banerjee, who is seeking to return to power for a fourth term, urged party workers and supporters to exercise patience and clarified that since the vote counting is still underway, one should wait for the final results.
New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah has been receiving minute-by-minute updates on the vote counting since morning from the BJP office located in Salt Lake, Kolkata. A victory celebration is scheduled for 6:30 PM at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, which will be attended by PM Modi.
Kolkata: Among the ministers in the Mamata government, including Sujit Bose, Shashi Panja, Moloy Ghatak, Manas Bhunia, and Siddiqullah Chowdhury, several are trailing; similarly, among the MLAs, Debashis Kumar, actress Sayantika Banerjee, and Krishna Kalyani are also behind. In Bidhannagar, Fire Services Minister Sujit Bose is trailing by 4,200 votes; BJP's Roopa Ganguly is leading in Sonarpur South; and in Jorasanko, BJP's Vijay Ojha is ahead by 9,437 votes.

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal stated, "I have instructed the district magistrates (DMs) that no permission is to be granted for victory processions today. Permissions will be granted starting tomorrow. These permissions will be issued by the respective police stations. Our objective is to maintain peace. This marks the first time that no incidents of violence have occurred, neither during the elections nor during the vote counting today. I appeal to the people to maintain peace."
Kolkata: The BJP is leading on 40 out of the 54 seats in North Bengal, its strongest stronghold. The BJP is ahead on all seats in the Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri districts, while the Trinamool Congress is leading on only one seat in the Cooch Behar district.
Kolkata: On West Bengal's Balagarh seat, the BJP's Sumana Sarkar is ahead by 4,941 votes following the first round. In Arambagh, after the fifth round, Hemanta Bag maintains a lead of 24,733 votes. Kolkata: BJP surges well ahead of the majority mark, dealing a blow to the TMC; Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself trails in her home constituency of Bhabanipur. The BJP is leading in 167 seats, the TMC in 116, Congress in 5, the Left in 2, and others in 3.
Kolkata: From Kolkata's Jorasanko constituency, BJP candidate Vijay Ojha is ahead by 2,537 votes; in Howrah North, BJP's Umesh Rai leads by 2,500 votes.
Firhad Hakim, a senior minister in the TMC government, leads by 9,938 votes in the Muslim-majority Kolkata Port constituency; Minister Sujit Bose trails by 117 votes; and from Maniktala, BJP's Tapas Roy is ahead by 3,030 votes.

As of 08:35 am, the BJP-led NDA was leading in 24 Assembly seats in Assam. Of those, the saffron party was ahead in 23 constituencies and its ally, the AGP, was leading on 1. Meanwhile, the Congress and its ally, the RD, were ahead on 4 and 1 seats respectively.
As of 08:20 am, just 20 minutes into the counting of votes, the BJP-led NDA was leading on 12 Assembly seats in Assam. Meanwhile, the Congress was ahead on only 1 seat.
Counting of postal ballots will start from 8 am in Bhawanipur, Mamata Banerjee's seat in Bengal, and only postal ballots will be counted for the first half hour.
