'I Love Mohammad’ Row: Police arrest son-in-law of Maulana’s brother (X)

'I Love Mohammad’ Row: After the recent unrest in Bareilly over ‘I Love Mohammad’ posters controversy, the police officials have arrested Mohsin Raza on Tuesday. Notably, Mohsin Raza is the son-in-law of Maulana Tauqeer Raza’s elder brother Mannani Miya.

In the 'I Love Mohammad row', authorities have started demolition action against illegal properties linked to him. As the investigation process is underway, his resort has also been sealed. In another major development, the Bareilly police has also sealed a marriage lawn owned by Haji Sharafat Khan, who is the close to Maulana.

State Minister In-Charge JPS Rathore's statement

Revealing more detail on the same, State Minister In-Charge JPS Rathore said, “No one is above the law. Rioters will not be spared. Any form of anarchy, illegal occupation, or tampering with building maps will not be tolerated. Strict action including bulldozer operations will continue wherever irregularities are found.”

As the investigation is underway as many as 62 individuals have been arrested in connection with the Bareilly violence. These include Dr Nafees, Maulana Tauqeer Raza, and Nadeem Khan. Reportedly, assets worth approximately Rs 150 crore which is linked to Tauqeer Raza has been seized. 

What president of Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC), Nadeem Khan said?

As per police, former district president of Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC), Nadeem Khan, revealed that that he and Dr Nafees had forged a letter using fake signatures of IMC state media in-charge Liaqat Khan and submitted it to the police.

SP Anurag Arya said, “The interrogation of Nadeem Khan has revealed vital information. The facts uncovered will significantly help in tracing other accused and progressing the case investigation.”
