Punjab News: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann launched the “Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme” to help elderly citizens visit Amritsar’s spiritual landmarks free of cost. He said the idea came from the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Under this scheme, devotees above 50 years were selected through a transparent draw. Mann said it’s not just a journey but a message of unity and peace for all religions in Punjab. The initiative started from Bardhwal village and quickly spread hope among thousands.

What This Journey Covers

Every devotee under this scheme gets to visit holy and historic places like Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Partition Museum. It is open for all — Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians alike. The Chief Minister emphasized that such trips help in spreading love, faith, and remembrance of the state’s rich spiritual heritage. This journey, Mann said, connects generations and builds respect between communities.

How The Travel Is Managed

The Punjab government has made arrangements for free AC buses, two-night stays in AC hotels, and hygienic meals for all pilgrims. Each bus has an assistant and a medical team to ensure safety and comfort. The administration has ensured proper facilities like restrooms, first-aid, and food during travel. The Chief Minister said that no devotee should face difficulty, no matter their age or health. This attention to detail has earned public appreciation across the state.

Why Elders Are Emotional

For many elderly Punjabis, this journey is not just a trip—it’s an emotional reunion with their faith. Some had waited decades to bow their heads at the Golden Temple. When buses started moving, many devotees were seen with folded hands, tears rolling down their cheeks. Mann said their happiness is his true reward and that the government’s service to them is service to humanity. It was a sight of blessings and emotions mixed together.

What Makes This Scheme Unique

Unlike political promises, this initiative directly touches hearts. No fee, no VIP treatment—only equality and devotion. Devotees are chosen fairly, ensuring transparency and inclusion. From transport to meals, everything is arranged by the state. The Mann government has also planned similar trips to other sacred sites across India. Each phase of this program adds strength to Punjab’s message of “Sarbat da Bhala”—good for all.

Where The Message Extends

Mann urged all citizens to take part in upcoming religious gatherings organized in remembrance of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s martyrdom. Events are being held in every district and at Sri Anandpur Sahib. He said Punjab’s foundation lies in brotherhood and mutual respect, and through this initiative, the same message will reach every household. The pilgrimage is turning into a social movement that celebrates togetherness and shared devotion.

What This Means For Punjab’s Future

Bhagwant Mann said he feels blessed to serve people through this noble act. By reconnecting citizens with their faith, the government hopes to heal social divides. Punjab’s land, he said, belongs to Gurus, saints, and martyrs who lived for peace. As more such convoys depart, the state is rediscovering its spiritual unity. The golden light of Amritsar is once again shining in the hearts of Punjab’s people.
