BRICS Summit: Day 2 Begins With Final Session, PM Modi Set For Seven Key Meetings

New Delhi: The 18th BRICS summit going on at Bharat Mandapam will end today i.e. on 13th September. On the last day of the two-day conference, many big leaders of the world will participate in the final session. During this, there will be discussion on Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability i.e. strength, innovation, cooperation and sustainable development. India has also made these issues the main theme for its BRICS chairmanship.

Will the open session start at 10:50 am?

The leaders and ministers are scheduled to reach Bharat Mandapam at around 9:55 am on Sunday. After this there will be a family photo at 10:35. The open session of the summit will start at 10:50 am.

In this session, leaders will express their views on issues like global economic development, cooperation, innovation and sustainable development.

Which are the 7 important meetings of PM Modi today?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of many countries today. His first program is with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at 2:30 pm.

After this, at 3 o'clock, Philippines President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at 3:30 pm and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at 4:10 pm.

PM Modi will have meetings with Burundi President Evarist Ndayishimiye at 4:40 pm, Nigeria's Vice President Kashim Shettima at 5:10 pm and Uganda's Vice President Jessica Alupo at 5:40 pm.

On the first day of the BRICS summit, member countries unanimously approved the New Delhi Declaration despite differences. Emphasis was laid on ending the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy between different viewpoints on the issue of West Asia. Global trade, supply chains and the need to maintain smooth movement of energy were also discussed.

Concern about nuclear security was also expressed in the manifesto. BRICS leaders expressed concern about attacks on civilian infrastructure and peaceful nuclear facilities and emphasized maintaining nuclear security.
