Maharashtra MLA Devendra Bhuyar has ignited widespread outrage after making controversial remarks about women and the sons of farmers during a public event in Amravati. Bhuyar, an independent MLA representing Warud-Morshi and a supporter of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, made the contentious comments on Tuesday, drawing sharp criticism from political and social circles alike.

In his speech, Bhuyar suggested that "a farmer's son" struggles to find a suitable bride, as "better-looking women" prefer men with stable jobs. He went on to say, "If a woman is beautiful, she will not choose someone like you or me; instead, she will prefer a man with a job."

In his controversial speech, the MLA further categorized women based on their appearance, stating that "second-rate" women marry shopkeepers or small business owners, while "third-rate" women marry farmers' sons. Bhuyar controversially added that children from such unions often inherit "weaker" characteristics.

These remarks have sparked a significant backlash, with many accusing Bhuyar of demeaning both women and the farming community. Political leaders have condemned his statements, labeling them as disrespectful and derogatory.

Congress leader Yashomati Thakur, a former Maharashtra Minister for Women and Child Development, was quick to voice her disapproval. She said, "No one will tolerate such categorization of women. Ajit Pawar and those in power must control their MLAs. Society will teach you a lesson."

Despite the growing outrage, Bhuyar has yet to issue a response to the criticism. Meanwhile, opposition parties have called for strict disciplinary action against him, intensifying the political storm surrounding his remarks.
