Amit Shah on Jammu and Kashmir dynamics. (ANI)

Jammu & Kashmir News: Union Home Minister Amit Shah fiercely criticized the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance in Jammu & Kashmir during a public meeting in Chenani on Thursday. Shah declared that neither the Congress, NC, nor "three generations" of their families would ever succeed in restoring Article 370 in the union territory.

Shah accused Congress and NC of being responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people in Jammu & Kashmir due to their alleged role in fostering terrorism in the region. He added, “After independence, it is the first time that elections are being held here without Article 370 or a separate flag." Shah further emphasized that the alliance’s promises to bring back Article 370 were hollow, saying, "Neither you nor three generations of yours will be able to bring back Article 370."

Are they perpetuating corruption and nepotism?

In a scathing attack on the "dynastic politics" of the region, Shah accused the "Gandhis, Muftis, and Abdullahs" of perpetuating corruption and nepotism by giving political power solely to their relatives. Shah said, “The three families only gave tickets to their people and made 87 MLAs, while under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, we made over 30,000 Panch, Sarpanch, and Tehsil Panchayat representatives.”

Shah contrasted the approaches of BJP and the opposition parties, stating that the BJP is focused on eradicating terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir, while the Congress-NC-PDP alliance has fostered terrorism for decades. As the second phase of Jammu & Kashmir elections took place on September 25, voter turnout reached over 57% by 11:30 pm. The final phase is scheduled for October 1, with results expected on October 8.
