BRO Breaks Its Own Guinness World Record (X)
Jammu & Kashmir:The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has once again created history by breaking its own Guinness World Record for the world's highest motorable road. In strategically important Ladakh, the BRO achieved this feat by constructing a road at an altitude of 19,400 feet at the Mig La Pass on the Likru-Mig La-Phukche road in Leh district.
Earlier, the BRO had held this record by constructing a road at an altitude of 19,024 feet at the Umling La Pass in Leh. Led by Brigadier Vishal Srivastava, Chief Engineer of Project Himank, the team reached Mig La Pass and hoisted the BRO flag along with the national flag.
Srivastava stated that the route from Likru via Mig La Pass to Phukche village is strategically important. It has become the third major route from the Hanle sector in eastern Ladakh to Phukche village, located near the India-China border.
Organization officials stated that 11 of the world's 14 highest motorable passes have been built by the BRO. The new road will also elevate tourism. The breathtaking beauty of the Indus Valley, visible from here, and the thrilling journey will be an unforgettable experience for tourists.
