Historic move: Modi government approves caste census, marking major policy shift

The Modi cabinet has approved the caste census. The Modi government has taken this big decision in the CCPA meeting held on Wednesday. Briefing reporters about the decisions taken by the Union Cabinet, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "The decision has been taken keeping in mind the clear arrangement in the Constitution keeping in mind the social fabric."

The Modi government has sanctioned the caste census. The caste census will be conducted in the original census. The Modi government has made this big decision in the CCPA meeting on Wednesday. Sharing news regarding the Union Cabinet's decision, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated, "Congress governments have opposed caste census. Despite the proposal, the Congress party only carried out a survey. The Congress employed it to their benefit. The caste census was carried out in many states, which has confused people. Caste enumeration needs to be covered under the regular census."

Many significant decisions have been made in the cabinet

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated, "The decision has been made keeping in view the clear order in the Constitution keeping in view the social fabric. He added that many significant decisions have been made in the cabinet headed by PM Modi. Shilchar to Shillong and Shillong to Silchar A very large project High Speed Corridor Highway which links Meghalaya and Assam has been approved. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 22,864 crore."
