Coldriff Cough Syrup. (X)
Chhindwara: The investigation in the Coldrif cough syrup case of Madhya Pradesh is progressing continuously. After the death of 24 children due to this poisonous syrup in the Chhindwara, Pandhurna, and Betul districts, the police on Sunday detained the company's Medical Representative (MR), Satish Verma. Satish was caught from his house located in the Kukra Jagat area of Chhindwara.
According to the information, Satish's name came up during the interrogation of pediatrician Dr. Praveen Soni, accused in this case. Now the police are interrogating him, which is expected to reveal some more important revelations. Meanwhile, Dr. Praveen Soni will appear in the local court of Parasia on Monday. It is being said that his lawyers are trying to get bail.
At present, the five main accused in this case are lodged in Chhindwara district jail. Among them are Shrisan Pharmaceutical owner G. Ranganathan, Dr. Praveen Soni (pediatrician), K. Maheshwari (chemical analyst), Saurabh Jain (pharmacist), and Rajesh Soni (drug supplier).
This matter came to light when the health of many children deteriorated after drinking Coldrif cough syrup made from poisonous chemicals, and they died during treatment. After the incident, the state government had ordered an investigation and initiated strict action against the pharma company.
