Narendra Modi Congratulate CP Radhakrishnan: On Tuesday, BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate CP Radhakrishnan won a landslide victory in the election for the post of Vice President of India. He defeated opposition India Alliance candidate and former Supreme Court judge B Sudarshan Reddy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated CP Radhakrishnan on his victory. He wrote on the social media platform X, "Congratulations to Thiru CP Radhakrishnan ji on winning the 2025 Vice Presidential election.

Historic victory in the vice presidential election

According to Returning Officer PC Modi, CP Radhakrishnan won the election by securing a total of 452 votes, while B Sudarshan Reddy got 300 votes. A total of 767 MPs exercised their franchise, recording a voter turnout of 98.2 per cent. One postal ballot had to be cancelled as the concerned MP refused to vote. This victory is a significant achievement for the NDA, which is a step towards further strengthening its foothold in South India.
