Administration Engages In Direct Dialogue With Villagers During 'Night Halt' Program

Ratia (Haryana): A programme was organised in Dadupur village late Monday evening as part of the 'Night Halt' initiative being conducted in rural areas under the directives of the Haryana government. During the event, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Vivek Bharti and Superintendent of Police (SP) Nikita Khattar engaged in direct dialogue with the villagers and listened to their grievances. Villagers presented 25 complaints related to various departments before the officials.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vivek Bharti stated that the administration's objective is to take cognizance of villagers' problems on the spot and ensure effective action towards their resolution. He noted that the administration is visiting villages to interact directly with the people so that villagers do not have to make unnecessary rounds of government offices to get their issues resolved.

During the program, the Deputy Commissioner inquired about the current status of the complaints from officials of the concerned departments and directed them to take prompt action in eligible cases in accordance with the rules. He also inspected an exhibition set up by various departments showcasing public welfare schemes and services, gathering information about them. He urged the villagers to obtain information regarding government welfare schemes and services from the relevant departments and to avail themselves of the benefits to the fullest extent.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to treat the complaints received during the program seriously and to investigate each one. He directed that issues capable of being resolved on the spot be addressed on a priority basis, while cases requiring higher-level approval or policy-related decisions be forwarded to the concerned senior officials in accordance with the rules.
He emphasized that administrative officers and staff should maintain constant contact with the villagers and ensure that the benefits of development works and government welfare schemes reach the eligible beneficiaries.

He also called for a regular review of works related to basic amenities in rural areas to ensure that residents do not face any inconvenience. SP Nikita Khattar gathered information from villagers regarding law and order, drug abuse prevention, traffic issues, and other local concerns, and directed the concerned police officials to take necessary action. She urged villagers to ensure that if they send their children abroad for higher education or employment, they do so only through government-authorized agencies or agents. Additionally, she advised parents to communicate with their children about the prevention of drug abuse and to raise awareness among them against using drugs.

During the program, officials assured the villagers that the complaints received would be addressed by the respective departments in accordance with the rules, and that necessary follow-up action would be taken.
