New Delhi: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with dignity and patriotic fervor by the Delhi Cantonment Board. On this occasion, the national flag was hoisted, and the program commenced with the national anthem. The ceremony was led by the President of the Cantonment Board, Brigadier P. K. Mishra, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Robin Baleja, and Joint Chief Executive Officer Mr. Shubham Singhla.

What did Brigadier P. K. Mishra say?

On this occasion, Brigadier P. K. Mishra emphasized the need to advance development works in the cantonment area, keeping in mind the Honorable Prime Minister's vision of a developed India @2047. He stressed the importance of providing better healthcare facilities to the citizens of the cantonment and maintaining a green environment in the cantonment area. He added that the goal of a green cantonment must be kept in mind along with development.

On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer Robin Baleja gave a detailed account of the development works being undertaken by the board and stated that the Cantonment Board is committed to contributing its best to the development of the country.

On this special occasion, Brigadier P. K. Mishra, President of the Cantonment Board, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Robin Baleja, and Joint Chief Executive Officer Mr. Shubham Singhla led the program. Board officials, employees, students, and local citizens also participated in the ceremony.

Students from the Cantonment Board schools conveyed a message of patriotism through cultural and artistic performances.

On this occasion, employees of the Delhi Cantonment Board were honored for their outstanding work. The President urged everyone to actively participate in building a developed and prosperous India.

How did India celebrate Republic Day 2026?

India celebrated the 77th Republic Day on Monday. Following the parade on Kartavya Path in New Delhi, four Mi-17 1V helicopters of the 129 Helicopter Unit showered flower petals in a flag formation. Two powerful symbols of India's indigenous artillery strength – the Dhanush gun system and Amogh (Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System, ATAGS) – were displayed on Kartavya Path, showcasing the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and technological self-reliance in defense manufacturing.

Who were the chief guests?

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently met with European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Both top leaders of the European Union attended the Republic Day celebrations on Monday as chief guests. They will hold a summit meeting with Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday.

At the summit on Tuesday, India and the European Union will make a decisive announcement on the much-awaited free trade agreement. They will also finalize a strategic defense partnership agreement and a framework for the movement of Indian professionals. Relations between India and the European Union have improved over the past few years.

Which weapons were displayed in the parade?

The BrahMos and Akash weapon systems, the high-firepower 'Suryastra' rocket launcher system, and the Arjun battle tank were the main attractions during the Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path in the national capital on Monday. Officials said that the newly formed 'Bhairav ​​Light Commando' battalion, the Shaktiban Regiment, Zanskar ponies, and Bactrian camels participated in the parade for the first time.
