Delhi court to deliver order on charges against Lalu, Rabri and Tejashwi on October 13 in IRCTC scam

Notably, the case is in connection with the alleged irregularities in providing contract to two IRCTC hotels for the maintenance to a firm during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s regime as a Railway Minister.

Delhi court to deliver order on charges against Lalu, Rabri and Tejashwi on October 13 in IRCTC scam (X/TIN)

IRCTC scam: In a latest development in IRCTC scam, Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi, will deliver its order on framing charges against RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav and others on October 13. Additionally, the court has directed all the accused to appear in court on October 13.  

Notably, the case is in connection with the alleged irregularities in providing contract to two IRCTC hotels for the maintenance to a firm during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s regime as a Railway Minister. Notably, Lalu Yadav, Rabri and Tejashwi have been accused of fraud, corruption and criminal conspiracy by the CBI. However, the accused have argued that the CBI doesn't have sufficient proof related to the case. 

A brief about the case

It is to be noted that the case is of 2004 to 2009, when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Union Minister of Railways. He was accused of alleged irregularities in providing contracts for two IRCTC hotels to Sujata Hotels.

Alteration done in conditions

It is to be noted that these hotels later leased to Sujata Hotels Private Limited, for running and maintenance. It was claimed by the CBI that the tender process was manipulated to benefit Sujata Hotels by making changes in the conditions.

As per the chargesheet, V K Asthana and R K Goyal, the former IRCTC group general managers and directors of Sujata Hotels and owners of Chanakya Hotel, Vijay Kochhar and Vinay Kochhar names were also there.
