Chaos At Delhi University Over UGC Law, Woman YouTuber Allegedly Assaulted

New Delhi: There was a tense situation in the North Campus of Delhi University on Friday when an incident of alleged misbehavior and pushing of a female social media influencer came to light during the ongoing protest against the UGC Act. It is alleged that when the girl was asked questions, some students surrounded her, asked her name and caste and scuffled with her.

After the incident the atmosphere on the campus became more heated. Some students came out in support of the girl and started demanding action against the accused.

Why did the controversy increase when questions were asked?

According to the information, a rally was being taken out in North Campus in support of the new UGC law. Meanwhile, a young YouTuber and social media influencer reached there and started asking questions about the law to the protesting students.

It is being said that while asking questions, some students objected to her name and title and started questioning her about her caste. It is alleged that after this the atmosphere deteriorated and a situation of pushing and shoving took place. During this time, an attempt was also made to remove some journalists present there.

On receiving information that the situation was worsening, the police reached the spot and somehow pulled the girl out of the crowd safely. Later the girl reached Morris Nagar police station and tried to lodge a complaint.

After the incident, a large number of students gathered outside the police station and kept raising slogans till late at night. The students were demanding strict action against the accused.
