National News: For years, Delhi University’s student politics has been controlled by a few influential groups and big organizations. Instead of real issues, money, caste, and muscle power decided tickets. Student concerns were ignored, and education-related matters took a back seat. Students who actually wanted to work for change were sidelined. Leaders often treated the union as their personal property. Big posters and flashy campaigns replaced real debates. This created an atmosphere where genuine voices were drowned out, and only those with strong political backing could rise.

Silence on Student Issues

Real problems like fee hikes, hostel shortages, women’s safety, and better lab facilities have been neglected for years. ABVP and NSUI ruled alternately but never took concrete action. Politics became only about banners, money, and personal image building. Students waited year after year for promises to be fulfilled, but nothing happened.

Even when protests took place, they were often politically motivated. The real needs of students were used only as election slogans. Slowly, many lost trust in the system and stopped participating actively in politics.

Entry Of A New Force

Now, the game might change. AAP’s student wing, ASAP, will contest DUSU elections for the first time. Their aim is to ensure politics is not the property of big leaders but a space for hardworking and honest students to bring change. They want to create an environment where ideas matter more than money. ASAP leaders say their focus will be on real solutions, not false promises. They aim to break the cycle of power between the two old parties. This fresh entry has already started generating excitement on the campus.

Change in Ticket Process

ASAP has made its ticket distribution fully transparent. No one will be judged by caste, religion, money, or background. Every student will get an equal chance, no matter their language or economic status. This is a big change for campus politics. Earlier, tickets often went to those with political connections.

Now, merit and dedication will decide who represents the students. This open system is meant to attract genuine leaders. Students from smaller backgrounds will finally have a chance to step into leadership roles.

Simple Election Procedure

To become a candidate, students must follow just three steps—fill out a form, make a one-minute video or audio sharing their issues, and submit a written agenda. They must also collect support from 10 students for college unions or 50 for DUSU. This makes the process fair and clear. No heavy fees or complicated forms will block candidates. It is designed so that any dedicated student can apply. This simplicity will encourage more young leaders to participate. It also ensures transparency in every step of the process.

Condition of Clean Image

Candidates must have full attendance, no backlogs, and no disciplinary or criminal record. ASAP believes student politics must be led by people with integrity and a clean image. This rule will keep out those who misuse power. It will also help restore faith in campus elections. A candidate’s past behavior will matter as much as their ideas. Students will know their representatives are trustworthy. This is an important step toward building a respectful and responsible student union.

Call for Change

ASAP declares-this time, no money, no muscle, and no family power will decide the outcome. Only your vision and ideas matter. If students stay silent, the chance for change will be lost, but if they rise, campus politics can change forever. The organization is asking every student to take part. They believe unity can defeat old-style politics. Even a single voice raised for the right cause can make a difference. This is more than an election—it is a fight for a new kind of leadership.
