New Delhi: As the Haryana Assembly elections approach, the politics is heating up with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath taking center stage. CM Yogi is unleashing a barrage of attacks on the opposition during his election rallies. In his recent visit to Assandh in Haryana, he is seeking to galvanize support for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Congress and Babri structure

During his rally in Assandh, CM Yogi drew a striking parallel between the Congress party and the dilapidated Babri structure in Ayodhya. He declared, "Today, the structure of Congress has become as dilapidated as the Babri structure." This provocative statement resonated with his audience, as he recounted the emotional narrative surrounding the demolition of the Babri Masjid, linking it to a broader theme of liberation from what he termed "slavery."

CM Yogi passionately recounted the events leading up to the Babri structure's destruction, evoking memories of unity among Ram bhakts (devotees of Lord Ram) who rallied together to claim their heritage. "When Ram bhakts started chanting the slogan 'Give one more push, break the Babri structure,' it marked the end of not just the structure, but the end of a legacy of subjugation," he emphasized, further asserting that the demolition paved the way for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Call for unity against caste politics

In a critical moment of his speech, CM Yogi addressed the issue of caste politics, which he believes threatens to fracture societal unity. "Those who want to divide you through caste politics are not your friends," he warned. His message was clear: "If you divide, you will be destroyed; if you remain united, you will thrive." This appeal for unity reflects his strategy to consolidate Hindu votes by rallying against perceived threats from divisive politics.

Reflecting on past governance

Taking a broader view, CM Yogi painted a stark picture of India before 2014, describing it as a nation plagued by corruption, hooliganism, and anarchy. He claimed that the previous governments undermined national faith and security, creating an environment where chaos reigned. His rhetoric positions the BJP as the party of stability and progress, contrasting it with the Congress party's historical legacy.

Dark Chapter: 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots

CM Yogi did not shy away from invoking historical grievances, specifically the Congress party's involvement in the anti-Sikh riots of 1984. "Congress is in the dock for the murder of Sikh brothers," he stated emphatically. His call to reject Congress was framed as a moral imperative, urging voters to remember the past and not to provide the party with "oxygen" to regain power.
