Election Commission Revises Schedule For SIR in 6 States/UTs (X)
New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday announced that it is revising Special Intensive Revision (SIR) dates in as many as six states, including Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.
As per latest press release of ECI, the schedule for SIR of electoral rolls has been revised in state including Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, and Andaman and Nicobar.
On the SIR process in the state, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose said," The Supreme Court has given instructions to all stakeholders to take necessary steps to ensure that SIR goes on without any hindrance."
He continued to add, "Bengal is my promised land. Bengal is a sensation felt in the blood and felt along the heart. I would love to be a Bengali in every possible way. Therefore. I decided that my vote should be in Bengal. I have applied for it, and I hope I may get it."

Below are the Revised SIR dates:
It is to be noted here that in the earlier, revised schedule, the Enumeration Period for these 6 States/UT was till December 11, 2025 while the earlier date of publication of the draft Electoral rolls was December 16, 2025.
However, the enumeration period for Goa, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan and West Bengal will end today. The draft electoral rolls for these States/UT will be published on December 16, 2025.
