The Somnath Swabhiman Parv is being organized to commemorate the 1,000th anniversary of the attack on the Somnath Temple by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1026 AD. According to the organizers, hundreds of saints from across the country have arrived in Somnath for the occasion.
As part of the festival, the chanting of the sacred mantra 'Om' is being performed continuously for 72 hours in the temple complex. Despite repeated attempts to destroy it throughout history, the Somnath Temple is seen as a symbol of faith, resilience, and national pride.
