Punjab News: Four major Nagar Kirtans started from Srinagar, Gurdaspur, Faridkot and Talwandi Sabo and reached Anandpur Sahib on 22 November. Their total journey covered 1563 kilometres. Religious groups actively participated, ensuring discipline along the routes. The arrival marked beginning of large scale programmes dedicated to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Thousands are expected to visit between 23 and 25 November. The Punjab government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, completed all safety and facility setups. Ministers confirmed that arrangements focus on crowd management and public comfort. Security points, medical response teams and volunteer units have been placed. Main event locations and access routes are being closely monitored. Officials aim to provide smooth movement without delays.
The commemoration will begin with Akhand Path Bhog at Anandpur Sahib on 23 November. Chief Minister and dignitaries will attend the ceremony. A multi faith conference will also be held at Baba Budha Dal complex. Exhibitions at Virasat-e-Khalsa will showcase Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life and teachings. Religious leaders will present messages of unity and sacrifice. Organisers expect emotional engagement from devotees.
On 24 November, Nagar Kirtan will proceed from Kiratpur Sahib to Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial. Heritage walk routes will cover key spiritual landmarks. A special assembly session will be held at the memorial site. Traditional martial art shows and weapon displays are arranged at Charn Ganga Stadium. Drone shows at Virasat-e-Khalsa will run from 23 to 29 November. The government plans visitor guidance teams across all zones.
For devotees’ movement, 500 e rickshaws, 150 mini buses and multiple utility vehicles have been deployed. Ten golf carts are kept for elderly and specially abled visitors. Shuttle services have been planned between parking areas and main religious locations. CCTV supervision, barricading and signage are installed. Main control centre is monitoring every transit point. Volunteers will assist visitors across pickup areas and help desks.
Two tent cities, named Chakk Nanki Nivas and Bhai Mati Das Nivas, are set up. These can accommodate around ten thousand devotees. First aid services and medical assistance will remain available round the clock. Ambulances are positioned near major points. Essential amenities including sanitation have been ensured. Additional resting points are arranged near religious premises. Organisers aim to handle heavy turnout comfortably.
Over eight thousand Punjab Police personnel have been deployed for security and traffic control. Senior officers will supervise operations throughout the three days. All parking and public access zones are integrated with centralized monitoring. Traffic marshals will guide vehicle flow during peak hours. Emergency plans are prepared for immediate response. Officials emphasise that safety and respect of devotees are top priorities.
