New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the champions of the Women’s World Cup at his residence at Lok Kalyan Marg on November 5. During the meeting, PM Modi interacted and congratulated the Indian women's cricket team for their historic World Cup victory, in the finals.

It is to be noted here that Indian women's cricket team emerged victorious after defeating South Africa in the final by 52 runs, held at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. After team India's meeting with PM Modi, several glimpses were released on social media platform. Have a look of the same below: 

During interaction with PM Modi, cricketer Kranti Gaud said, "My elder brother liked playing cricket a lot, but he could not join any academy as my father had lost his job at that time. I always wanted to play cricket... In my first leather ball match in my village, I won the Player of the Match..."

What Shafali Verma said? 

While interacting with PM Modi, cricketer Shafali Verma said, "I got to play for the team when Pratika had an injury. The team showed a lot of confidence in me, and I just wanted to win matches for the team..."

What Indian cricket team captain Smriti Mandhana said? 

Vice Captain Smriti Mandhana said, "When we met you in 2017, we could not bring the trophy. We asked you about your expectations, and your answer helped us a lot for the next 6-7 years. I think it was in our destiny that we won the first World Cup in India. You have always been our inspiration. We are seeing women in every field these days, whether it is in the ISRO or any other field. This inspires us a lot..."
