Heavy Rain Alert: IMD Warns of Intense Showers Across Mumbai, Thane, Palghar Till July 4 (X)
Mumbai: The country's financial capital Mumbai is receiving torrential rains since past so many days. The low-lying areas of Mumbai are submerged in water. Heavy rains are continuing in all the areas of western suburbs including Andheri, Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Malad Kandivali, Borivali, Dahisar, Vile Parle, Santacruz, Bandra.
Heavy rains occurred in the western suburbs of Mumbai at midnight. After that, the rains have intensified again in the morning. Due to heavy rains in the western suburbs, water has started accumulating in the low-lying areas. The Andheri subway is flooded with four to five feet of water. Vehicles have been suspended on the Andheri subway. The heavy rain that had been lashing Thane since midnight has now subsided. So far, 137.12 mm of rain has been recorded.

All three local lines in Mumbai have been affected by the rain. Train services on Central Railway are running with a delay of about 15 to 20 minutes. Suburban train services on Harbour Line are also running with a delay of 15 to 20 minutes. As per the current information, services on Western Railway are running with a delay of 5 to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has issued an 'Orange Alert' for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad districts for the next four days. It has also warned that there will be heavy rain in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad districts on Juky 2 and 3.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast that Mumbai and the Konkan region will continue to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall during the first week of July. Strong westerly winds are expected to intensify the rainfall activity.
According to reports, trees were uprooted in several areas, causing traffic jams. A tree fell on a main road near the DN Nagar Metro Station in Andheri, blocking the route. Another large tree fell on Swami Vivekananda (SV) Road in Andheri, blocking a major roadway. Fire brigade teams and civic staff, along with machinery, were deployed to remove debris and restore traffic. Several areas, including BKC, were heavily waterlogged.
