National News: Heavy rain likely in north India: Rain has been continuing for the last several days in the hilly states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Life has been disrupted in many areas due to floods and landslides. Many people have lost their lives and many have had to leave their homes. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning for the next 24 hours.
The Meteorological Department has predicted medium to high risk of flash floods in parts of Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh in the next 24 hours. Heavy rain warning has been issued in Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Dehradun, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand.
There is a flood warning in Anantnag, Doda, Kathua, Kishtwar, Kulgam, Punch, Ramban, Reasi, Udhampur of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The Meteorological Department issued a warning for Himachal Pradesh and said that Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur stay tuned for updates and avoid drains, culverts and fallen power lines for safety and avoid going to flood prone areas near the river.
According to the Meteorological Department, torrential rains in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Nainital, Pauri Garhwal, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Tehri Garhwal, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag can increase the problems of the people. People have been appealed not to go out of the house unnecessarily. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited flood and land erosion affected areas in Laksar and surrounding areas of Haridwar district.
