Jaishankar Blasts Pakistan Over Terrorism at UN Session (Navbharat)
India's befitting reply to Pakistan at UN:At the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), India strongly cornered Pakistan on the issue of terrorism on the international stage. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and First Secretary of the UN Mission, Petal Gahlot, made their points very clearly. They stated that countries that sponsor terrorism will face consequences. This firm stance by India caused embarrassment for Pakistan.
Jaishankar did not directly name any country in his speech, but his message was clear. He stated that countries that promote terrorism received no sympathy and that such countries would face consequences. He called Pakistan the "epicenter of global terrorism" and reminded that for decades, major international terrorist attacks have been linked to this country. The United Nations terrorist lists include many Pakistani citizens, which is a proof of Pakistan being associated with terrorism.
Jaishankar mentioned the murder of innocent tourists in Pahalgam earlier this year and described it as the latest example of Pakistan's cross -border barbarity. He said that India took action to protect its citizens and put criminals in the dock of justice.
Petal Gehlot made fun of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's claim, "We won the war," and said that if the burnt hangar and the destroyed runway should be considered as a victory, then Pakistan has every right to believe it. She insisted that India adopt a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and also make the terrorists responsible for their sponsors.
Gehlot made it clear that India would never bow to nuclear threats or blackmail. She said that terrorism is at the core of Pakistan's foreign policy, and recent events prove this again. In her words, "No matter how much drama and lies there are, the truth cannot be hidden."
Both Jaishankar and Gehlot emphasized the need for international cooperation in fighting terrorism. He said that all countries of the world will have to take concrete steps against terrorism. India made it clear that countries that support terrorism will not be tolerated.
India's offer at the UN General Assembly not only exposed Pakistan but also sent a message to the world that there will be no compromise against terrorism. India made it clear that security and peace are its top priorities.
