Jharkhand News: Massive Blast At Ramgarh Cement Factory, Three Engineers Killed

Ramgarh: A major accident occurred due to a massive explosion in a cement factory in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. Three engineers died, while another engineer was seriously injured in the explosion that took place late on Friday night at Maa Chhin Mastike Cement and Steel Factory located in Hehal of Barkakana area. Injured engineer Tarun Rawani has been admitted to a private hospital in Ranchi for better treatment.

What happened?

According to the information, the accident happened in the turbine section of the power plant of the factory. Initial information has revealed that the problem of overheating has arisen in the overspeed panel of the turbine. During this time, it has also come to light that the safety equipment is not working properly. After some time there was a massive explosion in the turbine.

How many people got injured and died?

The explosion was so strong that the engineers working there did not even get a chance to recover. Three engineers died on the spot, while Tarun Rawani was seriously injured. There was chaos on the factory premises immediately after the incident. The employees and laborers present there panicked and relief work was started.

Were questions raised on security arrangements?

After the accident, the workers working in the factory have made serious allegations of negligence in safety against the management. They say that safety rules were not completely followed in the factory. The workers allege that if the security system had been strong then perhaps such a big accident could have been avoided.

After the incident, huge anger was seen among the workers. They have demanded appropriate compensation to the families of the deceased engineers. Besides, a demand has also been raised for an impartial and high-level investigation into the entire matter.

Workers say that there should be an in-depth investigation into whether there was any technical fault as well as any safety lapse behind the accident. If the investigation reveals negligence on the part of any officer or management, then strict action should be taken against those responsible.
