Pune: There is a ruckus in student politics before Rahul Gandhi's visit to Pune. Workers of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Congress' student wing National Students Union of India (NSUI) came face to face at CEOP Technological University in Shivajinagar. There was a clash between the two parties and after this each other was accused of assault.

This incident has happened at a time when Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is going to attend the 'Students' Echo' programme in Pune. This clash that took place before the programme has heated up the political atmosphere of the city.

How did the dispute between ABVP and NSUI start?

It is being said that there was an altercation between the workers of both the student organisations regarding the 'Students' Echo' programme. Within no time the matter escalated and people from both groups came face to face.

Whom did Congress blame?

Maharashtra Congress President Harshvardhan Sapkal targeted the opponents after the incident. He said that there is resentment among the students of Pune regarding the quality of education, facilities of colleges and other problems.

Sapkal alleges that Rahul Gandhi's programme is getting good support from the students. For this reason some people are trying to spoil the atmosphere of the programme. He called it an attempt to disrupt Rahul Gandhi's student dialogue programme.

What issues will be discussed in 'Students' Echo'?

In this programme of Rahul Gandhi, students will be directly talked to. Issues like quality of education, rising fees, employment and facilities available in colleges are likely to be discussed.

Congress says that the purpose of this programme is to give students an opportunity to put forward their problems and questions.
