National News: On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi addressed the nation and clearly stated the determination of the armed forces and India's new military approach. He said, "The enemy cannot look up now. This is the resolve of the new India. We have always given an opportunity for peace but have answered cowardice with valor." According to media reports, the Army Chief described Operation Sindoor as India's decisive military response and said that it is not just a response but also a clear message. He said that India carried out a precise and effective attack against terrorists in Pakistan and POJK; under the strategic freedom given by the government, 9 terrorists were killed without any civilian loss.
General Dwivedi said that the Indian Army gave a quick and decisive response to the military activities carried out by Pakistan between May 7 and 9. He praised the joint efforts of the Indian Air Force, Navy, and other agencies and said that this is a successful example of a "national approach."
On the preparation of the army for the future, he said that new brigades and battalions are being formed, which will have special forces, Divyastra batteries, and drones. He said that the Army Air Defense is being equipped with indigenous missile systems, and the army will play a leading role in realizing the dream of a developed India by the year 2047.
Giving information about the infrastructure development taking place in Ladakh, the Army Chief said that dual-use roads, bridges, and mobile networks are being built. Under the Vibrant Village Program, tourism, employment, and self-reliance are being promoted in border villages.
Expressing gratitude to the Army Veterans, he called them the pillars of nation building and shared the plan to make the youth self-reliant by training them in tour guiding, adventure sports, and mountaineering. On Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Army Chief mentioned the success of Operation Sindoor and showcased India's military strength and self-reliance. From Ladakh to the borders, the army is not only protecting but has also participated in development.
