National News: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has strongly condemned the case of refusal to communicate in the Kannada language by the manager of a government bank branch in Ankal Taluk. In a video that went viral on social media, the bank manager can be heard refusing to talk to the customer in Kannada.

He clearly said, "I will not talk in Kannada at all; I will talk in Hindi." Referring to the rules of the Reserve Bank of India, the customer demanded a bank employee interact in a regional language, but the manager repeatedly refused to talk in Kannada.

Such incidents should not happen again

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, describing the incident as disrespect towards the citizens, appreciated the bank's quick action and justified the move to transfer the manager. He said, "It is extremely condemnable to refuse SBI branch manager in Kannada & English in Surya Nagar, Ankal Taluk. Such incidents should not happen again."

Siddaramaiah has urged the Union Finance Ministry and the Department of Financial Services to make them mandatory for all bank employees. He said, "To respect the local language, respect people."

BJP MP Tejashwi Surya protests

BJP MP from Bangalore South, Tejashwi Surya also strongly condemned the behavior of the bank manager. "All banks in Karnataka should provide customers with the Kannada language," he said. Surya had raised the issue of making the local language mandatory in the meeting of the Public Accounts Committee in front of the Secretary of the Department of Financial Services. He urged the concerned authorities to implement this policy effectively and take strict action against the guilty manager.

TV Mohandas Pai agreed

Former Chief Financial Officer of Infosys, TV Mohandas Pai also supported the Chief Minister's statement. He said that all bank employees should try to communicate with customers in the local language and give them respect. Mohandas Pai said, "Non-English-speaking people should never have derogatory behavior. Hindi is not a natural language; respect for local language is necessary."

This case is a deep warning in Karnataka regarding the importance of the dignity and honor of local language. The public expects that in the future all bank employees will be more sensitive and aware to communicate in regional languages.
