Veteran Congress leader Oommen Chandy, who served as chief minister of Kerela twice, took his last breath in Bengaluru in the wee hours of Tuesday, his family informed.
The former chief minister was 79.
In a Facebook post, Chandy’s son announced the depressing news of his demise. He wrote, “Appa has passed away.”
In the past few weeks, the Congress leader suffered from deteriorating health conditions and had been staying in Bengaluru for treatment at a health facility.
Congress party extended their condolences over his demise and paid a tribute on social media.
