A video showing Union Home Minister Amit Shah reprimanding his son Jay Shah, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), has gone viral, capturing the attention of social media users across India. The incident took place during an aarti ceremony at the Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad, on the second day of Amit Shah's three-day Gujarat visit.

Humorous exchange at Jagannath Temple

The viral clip features Amit Shah performing the aarti, with the flame approaching Jay Shah's young son. Concerned for his child’s safety, Jay instinctively shielded the child from the flame. In response, Amit Shah humorously scolded him, saying, "Kassu nai thay, tare kai novo navay no chokro che" (Nothing will happen; do you have a new and unique son?). His remark elicited chuckles from the VIPs and attendees, while Jay Shah appeared briefly startled.

Amit Shah, accompanied by his family, was at the Jagannath Temple to seek blessings during his visit to Ahmedabad for Uttarayan celebrations. The family participated in traditional rituals, including cow worship. Amit Shah’s light-hearted comment about Jay Shah’s son added a personal and jovial moment to the spiritual occasion.

Amit Shah’s development-focused Gujarat visit

In addition to the family moment, Amit Shah’s visit was marked by several developmental milestones in Gujarat. Key events included the inauguration of the Ghatlodia Police Station, which is equipped with modern facilities, enhancing local law enforcement. He also launched 18 blocks of housing for police families, a state-of-the-art auditorium in Kalol, and a Railway Underbridge connecting Saij village to Kalol, all aimed at improving infrastructure and services in the region.

A bone bank at Shalby Hospital was also inaugurated, strengthening healthcare in Gujarat.

A personal touch amidst public duties

While Amit Shah’s visit was largely focused on development, the candid and lighthearted interaction with his son, Jay Shah, showcased a different side of the minister. The viral video not only amused netizens but also highlighted the familial warmth in Amit Shah's public life, adding a personal touch to his official duties.
