Cases of fraud through fake Facebook IDs continue to emerge across the country. In Bihar, a shocking incident has surfaced where a man allegedly created a fake profile under the name "Laxmi Kumari" and later sexually assaulted a widow. The victim is now seeking justice.
According to media reports, the accused has been identified as Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Bansodhi village in Koderma district, Jharkhand. Allegations suggest that Sandeep used a fake Facebook profile to connect with the victim, gradually building familiarity and trust.
The victim stated that in May last year, Sandeep lured her with the promise of a job and called her to a hotel near Gaya railway station. She alleges that upon reaching the location, he drugged her and then sexually assaulted her.
The victim further claims that the accused recorded an explicit video of the incident. Despite filing a police complaint, she asserts that no action has been taken against him so far. She also alleges that Sandeep is now pressuring her to withdraw the case and has even issued life threats.
In pursuit of justice, the woman has now approached the Superintendent of Police (SP), Madan Kumar Anand, demanding strict legal action against Sandeep. She revealed that her husband had passed away in 2017 and believes that her deceased husband’s elder brother and others conspired against her to seize her property.
Authorities have acknowledged the complaint and assured that further legal action will be taken.
