Mumbai, Pune Rains: Air India, IndiGo issue travel advisory (X)
Mumbai and Pune Rains: Mumbai and Pune woke up to heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms on Monday. Heavy rain resulted into waterlogging and traffic jam in the city. Multiple alerts has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) including a yellow alert for Mumbai and rainfall alert for Pune. IMD has issued warning of continued rainfall warning on September 16.
Following the heavy rain, Air India has tweeted, ''Persistent rain may impact flights to and from Mumbai today.''

Due to the heavy rains, Mumbai Police has issued advisory urging citizens to stay away from coastal and low-lying areas. It took to the 'X' and wrote, ''In view of the heavy rain across Mumbai city and suburbs, citizens are requested to avoid visiting coastal and low-lying areas.''
It added, ''Our officials and staff are alert and ready to assist Mumbaikars. Dial 100 / 112 / 103 in case of any emergency.''

Notably, there is an alert of heavy rain in Northeast India, Andhra and Telangana, and eastern Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Bihar. IMD has said that Delhi NCR is likely to remain cloudy. Light rain is also expected in Delhi-NCR today. Notably, IMD has issued an orange alert for Bihar, Assam, Sikkim , Uttarakhand, Goa and Northeast India. Orange alert has been issued for Hyderabad, Karnataka, Konkan and Goa.
Rainfall has continued to wreak havoc in the states of Northeast India. Several other states are witnessing heavy rainfall including Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. According to IMD, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected in in Arunachal Pradesh till September 18.
Meanwhile, Assam, Meghalaya , Nagaland , Manipur , Mizoram and Tripura are likely to receive rain on Tuesday i.e. September 16 and then on September 18-19, while parts of Arunachal Pradesh and other states may receive very heavy rainfall on certain dates. IMD has issued an orange alert for many parts of the Northeast .
