Assam: Monday began with the retrieval of the lifeless body of the BJPs leader, dead in Maligaon, the scooter found together with him. The police quoted an initial report from an inspection, saying this was an accident; however, sources close to some family members report "foul play" at play.

Shocking Maligaon Incident

The body of BJP leader Kamal Dey was found this Monday in Maligaon under the Guwahati city police. The morning walkers passed by the scene where the dead body was visible near the scooters that lay abandoned; therefore, they informed the police. This shocking incident has brought queries within the community regarding the nature of the incident and has brought immense suspicion in the people's minds towards the death cause of Dey.

Family Questions Foul Play

The police initially said it is accidental, but his family members have said that all this is due to foul play. Kamal Dey was the president of the BJP Jalukbari Mandal, and he actively worked as a political as well as social activist in the area. All this resulted in extra speculation over his death, that it was not at all accidental. So, his family demanded a proper probe in this issue.

CCTV Footage and Police Statement

Guwahati Commissioner of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta said the initial police probe based on the available CCTV footage asserts that Dey died when his scooter hit a speed breaker. It seems the accident place has been included in the recorded footage taken at 2:47 am. The police don't exclude anything from the case, keeping their aspects carefully under consideration before giving any verdict on it.

Community Reactions and Police Assurance

The sudden death has attracted sharp debate in Jalukbari, a constituency represented by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. As the community waits for a clear word, it was asked not to panic or believe rumors, as police officials are sure that every angle will be considered before arriving at any final judgment.
