NIA Targets US-Based Khalistan Leader Offering ₹11 Crore to Incite Violence (Social Media)
Case Againts Pannun to Incite sikh soldier:The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a serious case against Gurpavant Singh Pannun, General Counsel of the US-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). Pannun is accused of attempting to incite Sikh soldiers to prevent Prime Minister Narendra Modi from hoisting the tricolor at the Red Fort on August 15, Independence Day, and offering a reward of ₹11 crore for doing so.
According to the NIA FIR, Pannun released a video on August 10 from the official 'X' handle of the SFJ. In this video, he challenged the federalism and sovereignty of India by including Punjab, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh in a map of Khalistan. The video openly incited violence and called for violence against Indian security forces.
Pannun organized a 'Meet the Press' event at the Lahore Press Club in Pakistan, where he denied sovereignty over Indian Punjab and supported the Khalistan movement. During this, he revealed the SFJ's new 'Delhi Banayega Khalistan' referendum map. The NIA says such activities pose a serious threat to India's security and social peace.
The NIA registered a case against Pannun under Section 61(2) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 10 and 13 of the Unconstitutional Activities (Prevention) Act of 1967. The investigating agency is now identifying his associates and other criminal activities. Officials say some individuals based abroad are trying to challenge Indian sovereignty.
The central government says this is a clear crime and strict action is necessary to prevent it. The NIA is also analyzing Pannun's network, his financial transactions, and social media activities. Experts believe that India is keeping a close watch on radical activities spreading on digital platforms.
With the FIR being registered against Pannun, the message is clear that India will not tolerate any conspiracy against its sovereignty and security.
