Dowry Greed and Domestic Violence Lead to Brutal Killing by Husband Vipin
Nikky murder: Greed knows no bounds. Vipin and Rohit Bhati, two unemployed brothers, inherited an expensive SUV, a Royal Enfield bike, about 500 grams of gold, and cash from their in-laws, but they found it to be too little. When their wives, Nikky and Kanchan, opened a parlor and boutique business to become financially independent and fulfill their children's dreams, the brothers started stealing money from their earnings, their family alleges. This led to frequent quarrels in the house, and on Thursday, the result of this quarrel came in the form of Nikky's brutal murder.
Several reports claim that Vipin Bhati did not like Nikki and Kanchan posting reels on Instagram. Nikki's family says that the two sisters used their social media posts to promote their business. In their reels, they are seen showing their makeup and boutique work to attract more and more customers. The sisters' father had given money for their business so that they could become self-reliant. Interestingly, Vipin did not like Nikki's social media posts, but he allegedly wanted to live a luxurious life with the money earned from Nikki.
Nikki's uncle said that having an Instagram account and posting reels is a very normal thing. Everyone does this. But those who have a bad mentality see everything in a bad light. Thieves think that everyone is a thief. Vipin is a criminal. Instagram and everything else is an excuse. Actually, both these brothers wanted their money. Nikki and Kanchan kept the money for their expenses and their children's future, and this is why there were fights.
Nikki and Kanchan got married to brothers named Vipin and Rohit in a single ceremony on December 10, 2016. Their families had accepted the couple. Nikki's uncle said that everything was fine in the beginning. He said that we gave whatever we could: a car, clothes, and jewelry. When the child was born, a motorcycle was demanded, and we gave it. They had understood that they could rob us. He said that Vipin was addicted to alcohol and often quarreled. Later the family came to know that he was having an affair with someone else. He wanted to get rid of Nikki, and that is why he did this.
Nikki's sister Kanchan said that Vipin and Rohit would often stay out till late at night and would not pick up their wives' calls. If we asked them where they were, they would create a ruckus. They would spend time with other women, and when we spoke to them, they would beat us up. We would spend our nights crying. Nikki's father, Bhikari Singh Payala, had a Mercedes car, and Vipin was demanding that luxury car. A relative said that Vipin had been demanding this car for more than a year. He had said, "Either give the Mercedes or Rs 60 lakh."
Nikki's uncle said that on this Janmashtami, Vipin beat her up, and when she told her family, her father and other relatives went to the Bhati family's house. We were bringing the sisters home. But the family and relatives assured that this would not happen again. Every time, they gave the same assurance.
Earlier in February, Nikki, Kanchan, and her children left their in-laws' house and came to their parents' house. Then a meeting was held between the two sides, and Vipin apologized. After Holi, both the sisters returned with their husbands. Recalling the incident, Nikki's brother said that we gave them a chance, but we could not even imagine that they would have such cruelty in them. He said that both the brothers treated their wives in the same way. They used to do whatever their mother said. He said that Kanchan fainted several times and has been admitted to the hospital. She is still in shock after seeing her younger sister being burnt alive.
According to the FIR lodged on Kanchan's complaint, Nikki was attacked by her husband and mother-in-law, Daya, on Thursday evening. When Kanchan intervened, she was also beaten up. Vipin allegedly poured an inflammable substance on Nikki and set her on fire. In the shocking video recorded by Kanchan, Vipin is seen attacking Nikki.
In another clip, a burning Nikki is seen staggering down the stairs. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, from where she was referred to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, where she died. Kanchan said she heard the accused say, "Kill her, finish the job." Nikki and Vipin have a six-year-old son who witnessed his mother's torture and death. After Nikki's death, the terrified son said that they first poured something on Mummy. Then slapped her and then set her on fire with a lighter.
