Ludhiana NRI Woman Murder Case: A horrific incident has shaken everyone in Ludhiana, Punjab. Rupinder Kaur Pandher, a 69-year-old NRI woman from Seattle, USA, suddenly went missing. However, upon police investigation, her skeleton was recovered from a drain in Ghungrana village. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the murder was not committed by a stranger, but by Rupinder's fiancé, Charanjit Singh Grewal, and an acquaintance of his.

The horror of the crime and the greed behind the murder stunned everyone. The desire to seize Rupinder's property and money motivated his fiancée and acquaintance to take his life. The police gradually unraveled the entire conspiracy.

The dream of marriage became a conspiracy to kill

Rupinder met Charanjit Singh Grewal, 67, who lived in England, on a matrimonial website. They grew close, and marriage was even discussed. Rupinder frequently visited India and stayed at the home of Sukhjit Singh, an acquaintance of Charanjit's, in Ludhiana.

But over time, their dream of marriage faded, and the relationship turned into a murder plot. According to police, Charanjit refused to marry him and plotted to eliminate Rupinder to gain control of his property and money.

How was Rupinder Kaur murdered?

On the night of July 12th, Sukhjit invited Rupinder to his house. The murder was already planned. Sukhjit killed Rupinder by hitting him with a baseball bat. After the murder, Sukhjeet took the most drastic step of destroying evidence and disposing of the body.

He burned Rupinder's body over charcoal and then stuffed it into four sacks and threw it into a drain in Ghungrana village. Rupinder's iPhone was also broken and thrown into the drain to prevent any identification.

Murder committed for greed and money?

The investigation also revealed that Rupinder had already transferred 30 to 35 lakh rupees to Charanjit and Sukhjeet. Grewal had promised Sukhjeet 50 lakh rupees and assistance abroad in exchange for the murder. Driven by greed, Sukhjeet carried out the murder.

False missing person report filed with police

To conceal the murder, Sukhjeet filed a missing person report with the police in August. He claimed that Rupinder had left Delhi airport for a wedding in Canada but had disappeared there. This disappearance story was fabricated to cover up the murder.

Police found Rupinder's skeleton in a drain

During the police investigation, Rupinder's skeleton and his damaged iPhone were recovered from the Ghungrana drain. Sukhjeet broke down during interrogation and confessed to the murder. Several crucial pieces of evidence were also recovered from his home, which helped clear the case.

Rupinder gave Sukhjeet authority

The investigation also revealed that Rupinder had delegated her power of attorney to Sukhjeet, a man she trusted. However, this trust was exploited and she was murdered. Police have identified Charanjit Grewal as the mastermind of the conspiracy. He is currently in the UK and preparations are underway to extradite him to India through Interpol.
