What happened in the Mahakal temple of Ujjain?

According to the information, Nushrratt Bharuccha reached Mahakal temple on Tuesday morning to attend Bhasma Aarti. What statement did Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi give?

But his move did not go down well with the national president of All India Muslim Jamaat, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi. In a statement to IANS from Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), Razvi said that it is against Islam for a Muslim woman to worship in a temple, offer water, and follow Hindu rituals. Shariat does not allow such actions. Nushrratt Bharuccha has committed a big crime. Razvi alleged that the actress had acted against Islamic principles. According to them, this is a grave sin in the eyes of Shariat, and they should repent from it.

“Repent and recite Istighafar.”

This controversy once again points towards the debate in which an attempt is made to determine the morality of artists, sportspersons, and public figures on the basis of religious identity. Many experts say that such statements raise questions on religious freedom, personal choice, and freedom of belief. At present, this issue has gone beyond just a journey and has turned into a debate of religious intolerance versus personal freedom.
