Operation Shield (Social media)
National News: At 8 pm, when the lights will go off and the siren will ring out, history will be written in India's border areas. On Saturday night, a unique picture will be seen in the five Indian states bordering Pakistan. The power will go off, the sky will reverberate with the sound of sirens, and people will look out from behind the windows and try to understand that even if the hour of war is fake, the preparation should be real.
The name of this unique exercise is is—"Operation Shield."
The atmosphere will change as the evening falls. As soon as the siren rings at 8 pm, a 15-minute blackout will begin simultaneously in all border districts. People have been told to keep electronic lights, mobile flashes, inverters, and even vehicle headlights off. Thick curtains should be put on the windows of the house so that no light comes out.
All this is just an exercise, but its depth and seriousness are like a war.
Preparations for this mock drill have been completed in the border districts of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Haryana. The local administration is in alert mode in both the divisions of Jammu and Kashmir—Kashmir and Jammu.
People will be given training to reach safe places in case of attack, know the way to hospitals, and understand the language of sirens.
This drill will be a little more special in Haryana. The ability to deal with drones and air attacks will also be tested during this mock drill. State Home Secretary Sumita Mishra said that this exercise is being done on the instructions of the Union Home Ministry, the purpose of which is not only to test the preparation but also the speed of response.
The 'Civil Defense' team will be active in all of Haryana from 5 pm to 9 pm.
Not only government officials but also 32,000 volunteers will be involved in this operation. These will include:
These youth will stand with the citizens like a shadow in every hour of disaster.
This mock drill was postponed on May 29. But now when this exercise will be held on Saturday night, it will give a clear message—India will not only respond to attacks but will also be ahead in preparation before every threat.
This is the picture of that India that not only fights on the borders but also lights the torch of vigilance in every home. Saturday night will not be just darkness; it will become a path of light—which will teach us that security is now the responsibility of every citizen, not just the army.
