New Delhi: The diplomatic environment between India and several Arab countries has changed in recent times, especially after the terror attack in Pawhalgam on 22 April 2025. Terrorists had opened fire on innocent tourists in Pawhalgam, killing 28 people and injuring many, to which India reacted strongly.
Recently, the second India-Arab Foreign Ministers' meeting was held in New Delhi, in which 22 Arab countries clearly condemned terrorism and gave a message of standing with India. The Delhi Declaration issued after the meeting also said that all countries should adopt a 'zero tolerance' policy against terrorism.
This solid support at the international level has given a diplomatic challenge and a big message for Pakistan. Many Arab countries have clearly stated that cross-border terrorism should not be recognized in any form, which seems to reduce ideological support on the Pakistan front amid India-Pakistan tensions.
After the Pavahalgam attack, many countries around the world also expressed support for India. The United Nations, European Union and many countries had strongly condemned this incident and showed solidarity against terrorism.
India not only condemned the attack but also stressed strengthening anti-terrorism cooperation and security partnerships. It was also said in the Foreign Minister's speech that partnership brings strength in the global fight against terrorism and it is necessary to suppress such attacks.
Arab countries coming out openly in support of India is an indication that some countries in global politics have started looking at the controversial actions of Pakistan from a different perspective. This change may also affect the framework of security cooperation in South Asia and the Middle East.
